Today, Teenage Engineering kicked off a celebration commemorating ten years of their Pocket Operator synthesizer series. This event, made up of a number of unique campaigns, aims to celebrate Teenage Engineering's Pocket Operator synthesizers and the DIY spirit of musicality they champion.
Teenage Engineering's campaigns commemorating ten years of the Pocket Operator series include a new anniversary website, a social media-driven, Pocket Operator-centric, online contest, and a new, reduced price on the PO-12 Rhythm Pocket Operator. The first, TE's anniversary website, contains archival footage chronicling ten years of the Pocket Operator. The second, the online contest, invites Pocket Operator users around the world to share their musical creations for a shot at three Pocket Operator prizes. The third, a lowered price on the PO-12 Rhythm, seeks to spread the celebration far and wide with an accessible price point.
The Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator series of synthesizers first launched in 2015 with the PO-12 Rhythm, PO-14 Sub, and the PO-16 Factory. These foundational synthesizers, establishing the Pocket Operator experience with the base musical elements of rhythm, bass, and melody, kicked off the series that would evolve with more complex and adventurous models – all with the consistent experience of a bare circuit board and an LCD screen.
