Fender Announces Acoustasonic Stratocaster

This Tuesday, Fender officially revealed the American Acoustasonic Stratocaster. Set to arrive to dealers sometime in 2020, the American Acoustasonic Stratocaster is an exciting development in the world of both acoustic and electric guitar technology.

Though the concept of an acoustic electric guitar hybrid is familiar, Fender insists that the Acoustasonic Stratocaster is a completely unique instrument, even from the Acoustasonic Telecaster. New developments in design and technology have vitalized the Acoustasonic Stratocaster to introduce new captivating capabilities while delivering an authentic Stratocaster experience.

The Fender Acoustasonic Stratocaster is, in essence, an acoustic instrument. Before plugging in, an engaging acoustic experience is present as full and resonant acoustic tones come easily from the Acoustasonic alone. While the Acoustasonic Stratocaster produces enticing acoustic tones, players seeking a playing experience reminiscent of an electric Stratocaster will be met with familiar Stratocaster specifications, such as a “Modern C”-shaped neck for comfortable handling.

Established Stratocaster designs are adapted to accommodate the new Acoustasonic tones and technology. Players familiar with the feel and functions of the Stratocaster will encounter innovative new technology with intuitive hardware design, as the Acoustasonic Stratocaster features three pickup systems to capture a wide range of tones. Tonally expressive and deeply customizable, the Acoustasonic Stratocaster pickup system makes capturing precise acoustic voices quick and easy.

The Fender American Acoustasonic Stratocaster features ten distinct voices, seven acoustic and three electric, accessed via the five-way tone selector switch and the innovative Mod knob. Each position of the tone selector switch captures two interesting voices on either end of the Mod knob. Rotating the Mod knob fully counterclockwise will present one voice, “A”, while rotating the knob fully clockwise will present a second, “B”. The vast spectrum of voices lays within the space between either setting, as two guitar tones can be mixed to create a completely new tone that could not be captured by another acoustic electric hybrid.

The five positions of the tone selector switch contain two distinct acoustic voices found at each end of the Mod knob.
